September Member Spotlight: Lainie Ingles

If you’ve ever clipped in for a class at High Ride Cycle, chances are you’ve seen (or heard!) Lainie Ingles. Known for her bubbly energy, contagious “woo’s,” + front-row sparkle, Lainie is this month’s Member Spotlight + for good reason.

Lainie first found High Ride back in 2021, thanks to a friend who knew exactly how to win her over: music. “The key to my heart is music,” she laughs. After her very first class, she was hooked + she’s been riding ever since, now approaching an incredible 800 rides.

But her journey here has been about so much more than milestones.

“I think my confidence has just grown immensely throughout my experience here,” she says. “I started in the middle row, moved to the sidebar + now I’m up front—cheering, pointing + bringing my energy to everyone around me.”

For Lainie, High Ride has become her safe place—a space where she’s always supported to be 100% herself. As a nurse, her job can be both physically demanding + emotionally draining. After 12-hour shifts that start at 3 a.m., the studio is where she comes to reset + shift her mindset.

“I might walk in feeling glass-half-empty, but by the last hill, my mindset has completely changed,” she says. “It’s taught me that you don’t have to do it—you get to do it. That perspective has changed not just how I ride, but how I approach my work + my life.”

High Ride has also become part of her healing journey, a place that supports her mental health through life’s hardest days. With the lights down low + the music loud, she’s able to leave everything else behind for 45 minutes + just be present.

“It lets me show up better—as a nurse, a wife, a daughter, a friend. And hopefully as someone who brings a little joy to anyone else who might be having a hard day.”

Lainie’s High Ride memories are countless: milestone celebrations with fellow riders, her husband surprising her at her 500th ride + even sharing a class with her mom, who taught group fitness when Lainie was growing up. One instructor, Alex, even reminds her of her mom’s teaching style: a perfect mix of tough love + warmth.

“This place is my safe place. It’s my piece of home,” she says.

Walking into the studio, you’d never guess if Lainie has had a tough shift—her joy fills the room the second she steps through the door. What started as an intimidating challenge has become a passion she now shares with others, encouraging new riders to experience the same magic she’s found.

“Cardio can be intimidating. But now I’m the one bringing people here saying, ‘Trust me—there’s magic behind those doors.’”

We couldn’t agree more.
